John Osterhout, a museum board member, said, “Visitors can see some of the most iconic aircraft in history, learn about their technology and development, and explore the role aviation played in American history.”
The Fresno Chaffee Air Museum hosts special events throughout the year, including an annual Open Cockpit Day, where visitors can climb into the planes and see them up close. The museum also has a flight simulator and offers summer camps for kids, teaching them about aviation and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) education.
One of the museum’s most popular exhibits is the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Room, which features a large mural of the attack on Pearl Harbor and a collection of artifacts, including a piece of the USS Arizona.
